Motion Capture Director / Producer

Remington produced and directed all motion capture for the first theatrically released motion capture film, FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN.

The creator of the multi-billion dollar FINAL FANTASY video game franchise, Hironobu Sakaguchi, tapped Remington as the department head of motion for his groundbreaking computer generated feature film, FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN, the first theatrically released animated film to utilize performance capture for principle characters.

Years of on-set experience for motion capture productions and manipulation of the underpinnings of the digital production process are the cornerstone of Remington's success. His methodology for recording complex human actions and translating that data into successful digital animation has resulted in emotionally rich, high profile computer generated characters.

“As a Senior Animator on FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN, I worked closely with Remington at Square USA. Remington oversaw nearly every aspect of the motion capture pipeline from preproduction, set construction, rehersal, shooting, cleanup, retargeting and delivering the best mocap data I've used before and since working there.”
